About
Mary’s Dog Training, based in Cape Coral, Florida, is the result of a lifelong passion that began in 2010 in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. My journey continued across multiple countries as military duty stations changed, allowing me to grow as a trainer and serve diverse communities.
In Okinawa, Japan, I expanded my work under the name Cornerstone Canine, providing specialized training for military personnel and their families. During that time, I collaborated with military facilities to develop a dog therapy program that continued to benefit the community long after my departure. My passion then traveled with me to Nebraska and later to Sicily, Italy, where I continued offering obedience training and behavioral support.
Now, I bring this experience and dedication to Florida. My mission is to help dog owners build a clear learning language with their pups through effective communication, structure, and trust. I believe it’s never too late to teach an old dog new tricks — and never too late to strengthen the bond between you and your pet.
I am proud of my high success rate and the lasting satisfaction of the clients and dogs I’ve had the privilege to work with across the world.

Definition of a therapy dog is a dog that is trained, evaluated, and certified for the purpose of providing “therapeutic contact” to people with special needs in community areas (hospitals, retirement homes, nursing homes, schools, hospices, disaster areas, etc.) “Therapeutic contact” includes sedentary activities (petting, or “hanging out”) and physically-involved activities (playing, tricks, or obedience routines). A therapy dog is not a service dog, but may be one as well.
